Happiness struck during a walk
What began in 1966 during a walk through unnersdorf by two groups of young people will be gilded this saturday. It was love at first sight, what was drawn on the dorfstrabe near staffelstein. If the encounter had happened in the present day, the two might not have seen each other at all – because they were so busy playing on their cell phones. But that was quite different 50 years ago, and today kunigunde and jakob kreidler can celebrate their golden wedding anniversary.
Little jakob, born in 1941, found his way to birkach am forst in 1945 in the last days of the war turmoil together with his mother and six other siblings – he was the third youngest child. The father came to live with him a while later. Jakob attended the elementary school in obersiemau, before he was taken by the family enrico demoli in 1955 to rossach in the farmhouse and the coal shop. There, as he emphasizes, he was raised by his foster parents as if he were their own son.
Marriage in banz castle
As kunigunde popp, the jubilarian was born on 22. Born in unnersdorf (bad staffelstein) in september 1949. She was one of four children of her parents. Gunda, as she is affectionately called by her father, attended school there and took up a position at banz castle. There she learned everything that is needed in everyday life. On 2. December 1967, they were married in a civil ceremony in unnersdorf and in a church ceremony in banz castle.
After the wedding they moved to the house in coburger strabe in today's rossach district of grobheirath. Mr. And mrs. Kreidler continued the coal business until 2005. The two had two sons: norbert (49 years) and markus (40 years). In the meantime they have four grandchildren.
"My husband", gunda kreidler remembers "he was a real fubball fan." He played in obersiemau for many years before moving to rossach. Even at the age of 57, he was still active with the old men at the end of the 1990s. Today he does not even go to the fubball field anymore. But he is a member of the other clubs that still exist in rossach, jakob kreidler says.
Gunda's hobbies are knitting, handicrafts and baking. Some family members walk around with socks knitted by her. She is a member of the extended executive committee of the marienverein in rossach.
Behind the house of the kreidlers stood the railroad station as the terminus of the affectionately named "rodach-rossach-rom-express". The route should connect at kaltenbrunn with the route dietersdorf-bamberg. The dam behind rossach can still be seen in part today. But the project was never completed.
The golden jubilarian jakob had to battle a serious heart attack about ten years ago. Wife and children were worried. Today he is doing much better, says the jubilarian. For this reason, everyone wishes for the celebration of the golden wedding anniversary in the closest family circle mainly one thing: continued health.
