The many visitors who attended the opening of the "glass box" by project manager who had come, noticed it immediately. A workroom with a special atmosphere has been created here: the walls are hung with historical photographs of strullendorf and its districts, an old butterfly collection can be admired, but also pictures that many people still remember from the living rooms and bedrooms of their grandparents. The cake buffet contains an old coffee service, along with various collector’s cups and numerous glasses from different "style eras" and the visitors could take a seat on old sofas and pluschsesseln. Some of the old tools were reminiscent of bygone times and the craftsmanship of our ancestors.
At the official opening ceremony, mayor andreas schwarz (SPD) was able to bury numerous guests, including the district’s local historians anette schafer and wolfgang rossler as well as the young mayor of the municipality of strullendorf, sonja lindner from mistendorf. He thanked the newly founded local history association for its commitment to the urban development of strullendorf and for the new impulses in community life.
For burgermeister schwarz, the "glass box with its location in the heart of strullendorf and the rough shop windows is the optimal place to tackle the work on various projects of the urban development concept together with the burghers". The development processes are supported within the framework of the urban development program "active urban and suburban centers by project manager edith obrusnik. Many a "shop talk" were led immediately after the official part. Some of the visitors already brought up interesting ideas and promised their support to the local history society. Attentive listeners also found one or the other anecdote from the history of strullendorf. The "glass box will be open to visitors on a regular basis in the future, in order to "take them on a short journey through time into the past of strullendorf and its districts".
