Julia lorz sits at her desk. Around her, books and notes are piled high like palm trees on an island. But it’s certainly not paradise for julia: the student is about to take her school-leaving exam. It’s monday evening, in a few hours she will take her german high school diploma at gymnasium hochstadt. She is visibly nervous: "i’m very excited because you’ve never written anything for so long before and you have no experience of what an abitur is like."

She started preparing for her exams a month ago. Time and again during her school years, but especially during the past easter break, she spent entire days at her desk on the island. In the last school semester, students had to study for their exams in a short period of time. "It was hard to get up and study for the abitur, too", says julia.

Blood donors frank schopf, mechthild fischer and nina hadidi had a lot of luck at the recent blood drive at the lichtenfels vocational school. There, they not only donated their blood for people in need, but also took part in the blood donation raffle of the BRK district association in lichtenfels.

Question: what was the first time in india like??
Leoni nelkenstock: the first five months i was in chetput in the state of tamil in sudinia. This is a village with about 14,000 people living in its surroundings. What was the work like there?
In the mornings i studied english with the children of the sponsorship program from 7 to 8 a.M. I was assigned to the students between first and eighth grade. I had to make them spell english words or dictate them, which is not very effective in my opinion. Even if the children can spell and write the words without mistakes, they usually do not know their meaning and are not able to form or understand even simple sentences. But learning here in india is a little different from learning here in india. At least in the free governmentschools, children are expected only to memorize, not to apply what they have learned to novel situations. At 8 o'clock i went to the holy-family-home, where i mostly worked alone. Here i brought the residents breakfast from the hospital kitchen and drinking water from a well on the hospital grounds. Then i fed a blind resident who has only one eye left. I then made the beds and took residents to the hospital when necessary. If there was still time before the break at ten o'clock, I knitted headdresses and scarves for them. For the rest of the day my tasks were very different. I accompanied the nurses on the things that needed to be done, for example home visits.

Susanne vodde wished the new principal that she would inspire people with her energetic and open-minded manner and that she would find the right paths to many new goals with the team of teachers.

Hope for a little more peace and quiet

In his opening remarks, parents' council chairman markus reinwand said that with the introduction of mixed classes, changes of school location and the creation of a new school, it had always been interesting and never boring. Now we have a new start and with it he hopes that there will be more peace and quiet and that we can concentrate on the things that are important for the children. There is already an open exchange of information between the school management and the parents' council. He symbolically presented an "enter button" as a gift, which angelika schmitt could use, if again the administration program does not function. But if nothing else works, it can also serve as a resting cushion for relaxation.
